As you can see, we're back online. Woo hoo!!! We have been so busy running the store in Bellevue, we haven't had time to update the website and bring it back online. And because the owner is a complete control freak, we couldn't hire anyone else to do it for us.
Sigh.
February 2007
Our new store is finally open in Bellevue, Washington. Actually, it's two stores. We've combined our love of chocolates with a new-found love of coffee, and now we have two business: GrendelSweets™ Handcrafted Chocolates and the new Caffè Lento.
What is Caffè Lento? Well, literally it means “slow coffee.” It's a place where you can relax and enjoy your coffee while having one of our delicious chocolates or organic pastries. Rather than having a pot of generic coffee brewed for the rush, we offer organic, fair-trade single-origin coffees brewed to order in a French press. We also create wonderfully rich chocolate drinks using our usual delicious chocolate, and we offer organic fair-trade teas for those who want something lighter.
And if you are in fact in a hurry and just want a hit of caffeine, well, we're conveniently located less than a mile in three directions from four different Starbucks stores.

GrendelSweets is proud to announce our newest flavor: The Snoqualmie Falls Oatmeal Stout Truffle Cookie. This
delicious new treat combines a crispy potato chip shortbread with a creamy, caramel-like truffle made using
Snoqualmie Falls Oatmeal Stout. This is then dipped in smooth milk chocolate and dusted with gold. “Amazing!”
is what our customers say.
This exquisite new confection is currently available exclusively at The Snoqualmie Falls Brewing Company in
Snoqualmie, Washington. Stop by for a chocolate and a pint of some of the northwest's best microbrew.

GrendelSweets was thrilled to be part of the world premiere of the film Beowulf & Grendel. On September 14, Beowulf & Grendel premiered to an international audience at the 30th annual Toronto International Film Festival. Following the premiere, boxes of GrendelSweets™ Truffle Cookies were distributed by the producer, Paul Stephens, to select individuals as a symbol of gratitude for their work on this film.

GrendelSweets was proud to participate in the 2005 Rivers of Chocolate Festival. Guests loved the mini Truffle Cookies and Nut Crunchies, but they were especially impressed with the Truffle Tree. First disbelieving that such a thing really existed, guests cautiously plucked little truffle “fruit” off the tree, giggling all the while. But after tasting their first fruit, guests returned over and over to try the different flavors and encourage their friends to “pick a truffle.”

By the end of the day, the Truffle Tree was plucked bare.
